USS Titan, drydock. [Apr. 24th, 2009|02:25 pm]
[Tags|, ]
[mood |energeticenergetic]

::clambers up last few steps of maintenance ladder, accepting the hand of a nearby engineer to crawl out::

::brushes off profuse apologies about downed lifts, using the pretense of needing a stretch to take a moment to look around...and then directly toward open ready room entrance::

::bites lip to hide smile, head cocking to take in indistinguishable but forceful mutterings from within::

::offers refit leader a sympathetic shoulder pat, carefully moving around tools and debris, eventually coming to rest just inside doorway::

::clears throat::

Oh, Captain?

::narrows eyes at him::

Don't try to guilt-trip me. Or logic me to death.

I just can't, Will.

::frowns, mulling over own warning::

I'd feel guilty being so far from him.

You'd miss him, because you love him, and you can't imagine not being able to mother-hen him.

::offers a real, challenging smile after throwing down that gauntlet::

It was just an idea. I doubt he'd go for it either, to be honest. He feels very protective of you as well, in his own way.

::doesn't deny the assurance...can't, really::

::protective...yes, that certainly does describe some of the emotions the teenager gives off::

::tilts head, another worry slipping in::

We'll be leaving Jean-Luc alone, for all intents and purposes.

Not entirely.

Enterprise is readying for a near Earth stretch, so Geordi will be around.

I'm sure Worf will find his way back, and with any luck, Wesley isn't disappearing again any time soon...

::pauses as an odd smile quirks companion's lips up::

That is, unless they have something to do with your ideas.

::folds hands primly behind back, putting on a face of the utmost innocence::

Wes mentioned an interest in reactivating his commission, but seemed a little nervous about finding a niche after so long. As his therapist...

::juts chin up at hoot of laughter, continuing::

I wouldn't mind keeping him close.

Final approval depends on Starfleet, of course. And you.

I'm sure I could find a broom closet on here somewhere...

::holds up hand to call the peace, grinning at her::

And I doubt he'll have a problem with Starfleet. He's Beverly Crusher's son.

That smacks of...what was the phrase you used? Hereditary entitlement?

::arches brow::

True. But I do think Wesley has earned a position, regardless.

So has Tom Paris, apparently.

::frowns...defending problem patients is somehow never satisfying::

Though I think he more likely bumbled into responsibility than assumed it.

::pushes aside those thoughts, settling attention on the here and now and important::

Anything else I should know, Commander?

::loops arm through capt_will_riker's, ignoring his look of skepticism and forcibly pulling him toward ready room entrance::

Worf is on his way back from the homeworld. I thought you two should talk. He misses Starfleet as well. Troublesome as our fine institution is, the Klingons are apparently infintely more difficult to work with.

::laughs as doubt fades into a pained expression::

Don't focus on it now...you have a more important issue to worry about.

How you're going to get off this bridge and back to the shuttle bay.

::draws to halt, nodding down to turbolift shaft::

Transporters are currently down as well.

::prods at companion's belly, earning an immediate suck-in effort::

It's a lovely day for a climb, don't you think?
