::drops assumed Starfleet stance, folding arms instead::
::can't quite mask curiosity or surprise...fascinating as the Travelers are, most people don't seem to want to think about them in any detail::
Go right ahead.
::raises brow companion's abrupt change in attitude, holding own::
::brushes past him to console, pulling up requisite file for display::
Do you recall visiting any of these places?
My time away was about a little more than hopping around the universe sight-seeing.
::still, looks...it would have been a pretty boring experience without breaks for sight-seeing::
::traces thumb across marked path absently, digging into memory::
::stops abruptly at second set of coordinates::
That's about a parsec from a no go point.
::doesn't even try hiding bemusement::
Travelers have no go points?
It didn't make any sense to me either, but he was pretty adamant about avoiding the area. Seems he'd been there before, and spent a good long while before managing to leave. Kind of a Venus fly trap situation.
His hosts were perfectly genial, and actually operated on a higher plane themselves, but they were obstinate shut ins and scared to death of news about them getting out to the rest of the universe.
If he hadn't been a Traveler, with all the powers requisite, he probably wouldn't have managed to leave.
I wouldn't advise taking us there, if that's what you're asking.
I wasn't planning on it.
...this map isn't ours, it's one Voyager's crew may well be planning to use to get home.
We're supposed to step in if there's any trouble, but I've always been a believer in preventative action as well.
If possible I'll put in a word of warning and tell them to tweak their plans.
That's a museum I'm glad I didn't know about at the time.
::indulges an old, lingering twinge of bitterness::
I might have been tempted to stop in.
::tilts head in question, before revisiting a surprisingly buried memory of own::
::studiously reexamines map::
::curbs first instinct to empathize, putting paternal instruction into tone::
Ancient history, Lieutenant.
This is a humanitarian mission. See anything else we need to warn those people about?
::nods acknowledgment of warning...what was it Mom used to say, anyhow, 'an eye for an eye and soon I'm tempted to join a traveling troupe'?::
That's the only place I'm familiar with.
Better than nothing.
::turns for exit, pausing and looking back at afterthought::
Lieutenant Asil and Doctor Paris aren't cleared to hear about this yet.
::tilts head at another stray wisp of curiosity::
...how have you been hitting it off with the doctor?
::looks up defensively::
She's a redhead, you think I'm dumb enough to go picking a fight with her?
You've grown into a wise man, Mr. Crusher. A very wise man.
::makes note to heed the unsolicited advice, grinning despite self on way back into corridor::
